Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the mobile application Globus GPS & Live Earth Camera (the “App”), operated by Oscar Mañas (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects and how it is used. We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for your name, email address or phone number inside the App.

1. Information we collect

• Random app identifier. On first launch the App creates a random identifier stored on your device. It is not linked to your name, Apple ID or advertising identifier, and it is reset if you delete the App.
• Device model. The model of your device (for example, “iPhone 16”).
• Usage data. Events about how the App is used, such as opening the App, viewing a camera, searching for a place (including the place selected), changing the map zoom, and interacting with the subscription screen.
• Purchase status. Whether you have an active subscription, and the related transaction information provided by Apple.

Location. If you grant location permission, your location is used only on your device to show your position on the map. We do not store it or send it to our servers.

Payments. Purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment card details.

Support emails. If you send us feedback from the App, we receive your email address, your message, the App version and your random app identifier, so we can reply and investigate the issue.

2. How we use it

• To provide the App and unlock subscription features.
• To understand which features are used and improve the App.
• To detect and fix errors.
• To answer support requests.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your information.

The legal bases for this processing are the performance of our contract with you (providing the App and your subscription) and our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the App.

3. Service providers

We share information only with providers that help us run the App:

• Supabase — stores the random identifier, device model and usage data.
• RevenueCat — manages subscriptions using the random identifier and Apple's purchase information.
• Apple — processes payments and provides the in-app map.
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim — receives the text you type in the place search to return matching places.
• Webcam operators — when you open a camera, the video is loaded directly from its operator's servers, which may see your IP address under their own privacy policies.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

4. Retention

We keep usage data for as long as it is useful to operate and improve the App, and in any case no longer than 3 years. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos). To make a request, email us from the App's Settings screen using “Send feedback”, so the message includes your random app identifier and we can find your data.

6. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections, and our database only accepts writes through restricted functions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
